“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.” -Romans 1:16
What does it mean to live unashamed for God?
It is easy to get hashtag happy when announcing you live a life of boldness for God. To me living unashamed means that I am willing to give up EVERYTHING in my life in order to proclaim the good news of the gospel. Are you willing to do that too?? What does living unashamed for God look like to you?
I am in no way putting myself on a pedestal. I am merely trying to engage other Christians in truly living unashamed. It may seem intense but you have to be honestly willing to give up certain friends, family, material possessions, status, and money in order to live unashamed of the Gospel (if these things are getting in the way of living an unashamed life).
Are you willing to lose everything if God calls you to?
I know I am and I hope you are too. For too long we have lived as luke warm Christians only doing what we had to do to appear “good” to our fellow Christian Brothers and Sisters. Living unashamed means not worrying about what others may think of you. It is also a firm confidence that you will not be moved from where God has placed you.
This takes me into another issue. Pastor Saeed Abeedini!
Jesus was our example of our way to live and Pastor Saeed is our present day example of what this unashamed life looks like. As of today he has been in an Iranian prison for 253 days for standing up and being unashamed in his faith.
I find so many people think that we don’t live in biblical times so how could people die for believing in Jesus Christ. Well they do and as you are reading this another Christian is being tourtured and beaten over and over and being refused medical treatment.
You are not immune. Christians face the most persecution of any religion.
Even Jesus’ disciples refused to acknowledge Him as Jesus Christ as he was arrested and taken into custody. I use to think why or how could they turn their backs on Jesus. This is a man they know is standing right in front of them and yet they turn away from him ashamed.
This is what living unashamed for the Gospel is about. Willing to be tortured (if God calls you to it). While this an intense comparison it is not impossible. There are many Christians that the media do not report on. The harsh fact is that they are being tortured and murdered simply for being a Christian. As Christians we are all Brothers and Sisters in Christ and we must stand up and fight for our family.
Don’t be ashamed for the One who gave you life!
