It’s been 487 days.
487 days since Pastor Saeed has been in an Iranian prison just for being a Christian.
What have you done for the past 487 days?
I look back on the past 487 days of my life and even though I have days of discomfort as a Christian they do not compare to the discomfort that Saeed has faced. At least 200 (and probably more) of those days he has been living with extreme discomfort because of all the beatings he has received. These beatings created many internal injuries. These injuries will not heal on its own and he needs surgery. But the prison won’t let him have this surgery he needs. Saeed isn’t allowed to have any medical assistance because he is a Christian.
I write this for all eyes to see today that little of us can fathom what 487 days in prison looks like. Saeed is a courageous man of God for living in these conditions. Not only is he still alive with these injuries but he is preaching the gospel for all to hear (even to the prison guards).
Today I urge you to take a moment out of your busy day and say a prayer for our Brother in Christ, Saeed. When we became a Christian we became one with our Savior and we also became apart of the body. A part of the body needs us! He needs our prayers and his wife and children need us to pray as well.
Dear Heavenly Father,
First and foremost we thank you for the purpose you have given our brother, Saeed. We know that you are in control and will take care of Saeed and his family. Lord, we pray that your kingdom is glorified through everything that is happening with Saeed. We pray that Saeed can soon be home with his wife and children and we know that you have given Saeed a great task in preaching to the lost in Iran. Your plans are marvelous and we pray that the lost see you in the darkness.
