With every new year comes new resolutions. My resolutions always include a list of books I want to read. I am also often asked what books I could suggest so I’ve put together a list of 10 great books I suggest for everyone.
1.) Mansions of the Heart: Exploring the Seven States of Spiritual Growth by R. Thomas Ashbrook
One of the best books I have read on spiritual growth and this is a must read for every Christian. This books honestly helps you put your walk with God into perspective.
2.) The Five Love Languages-Single Edition by Gary Chapman
I read this book just a few months ago and was amazed how great it was. Even if you aren’t single it is still a great read.
3.) I Don’t Have Enough Faith to be An Atheist by Norman L. Geisler & Frank Turek
I love reading about Apologetics and if you aren’t sure where to start this is a great starter Apologetic book.
4.) Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis
I am sure I have mentioned this book a few times already in my posts. Lewis is one of my favorite authors and this book is actually the first Christian book I read as a Christian and it really challenged me. I have read it many times since and it still challenges me.
5.) Crazy Love by Francis Chan
Another great book especially if you are wanting a closer relationship with God.
6.) Indescribable by Louie Giglio & Matt Redman
This ranks high on my favorite Apologetic books. Giglio and Redman write a beautiful book with great physical evidence about the work of our divine creator.
7.) The Language of God by Francis S. Collins
Dr. Collins spent a majority of his life as an Atheist and then he became a Christian as he studied medicine and logically thought out why he believed the way he did. His specialty in DNA provides great insight into the relationship between Science and Christianity.
8.) Lies Women Believe: And The Truth That Sets Them Free by Nancy Leigh DeMoss
I first read this book a few years ago and it has taught me so much about how we as Women can believe. The book begins with the lies that Eve believed in the garden of Eden. This book is priceless!
9.) Forgotten God by Francis Chan
I ended up reading this book a few years ago with a small group at my church. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It also comes with a video and study guide which I highly recommend.
10.) The Pursuit of God by A.W. Tozer
You will hear me talk a lot about my two favorite writers and Tozer is one of them. He was a great Christian during his time and still encourages people not just to seek God but to pursue Him. If you are looking to press more into God this is a must read. Like Mere Christianity I have read this book multiple times.
Happy reading and I can’t wait to see what 2014 holds for us all.
